Connect with Students

"What is life at HDS really like?"

Prospective students consistently want to know the truth about the HDS experience. Perhaps the best way to gain a genuine sense of life at Harvard Divinity School is to interact with someone who is currently living it. Students from each of our degree programs have come together to provide firsthand resources for prospective students regarding what it means to be a member of the HDS community.

Ask a Student

Our Ask a Student program allows you to connect directly with a current HDS student. You may be interested in speaking with current students who share your academic interests or career goals, come from your home state or city, share your faith background, or had questions, as you may have, about housing or finding a job on campus.

To connect with a current student, email ask_students@hds.harvard.edu or leave a voicemail message at 617.495.0639.

Read the Student Blog

Our Student Blog offers candid reflections from current students on topics such as diversity, faculty access, courses, and the realities of studying in a pluralistic environment.

Kevin Madigan

Kevin J. Madigan

One of my primary pedagogical goals is to inspire and instill in students a deep sense of historical consciousness. What I mean concretely by that in the context of my courses is that I intentionally like to present them with texts, phenomena, practices . . . from the ancient and medieval church . . . to show them how very different medieval Christianity is from modern American Catholicism or liberal Protestantism.
