Yellow Ribbon Program

Harvard Divinity School is pleased to announce its participation in the Post 9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Program provides additional financial assistance to those veterans who qualify for 100 percent of Post-9/11 GI Bill educational benefits. For the 2016–17 academic year, HDS will provide up to 10 veterans scholarship assistance in the amount of $5,000, which will be matched by the federal government for a total assistance amount of $10,000. Participation is limited to 10 veterans and VA regulations stipulate that assistance must be provided on a first-come first-served basis. For the 2016–17 academic year, HDS will begin accepting applications for Yellow Ribbon on June 1, 2016.

If an applicant receives scholarship assistance from HDS, $5,000 of this scholarship amount will be designated as the Yellow Ribbon match.

An application for Yellow Ribbon will consist of the submission of a Notice of Enrollment Form available from the Office of Financial Aid and a copy of your VA Certificate of eligibility. We cannot accept application materials submitted prior to June 1.

HDS Voices

Maytal Saltiel

I was a little worried that I might be the only Jewish student at HDS, but I was quickly welcomed into a pluralistic community of diverse intellectual and spiritual interests. The Jewish Student Association has served as a homebase for my spiritual growth, meeting for text study, conversations on controversial topics, and to celebrate together. This grounding has allowed me to explore other religious traditions and further inform my own spiritual practice.
