Weekly, I was centered by silent prayer with three classmates; the peaceful ritual of Thursday Eucharist; and Wednesday’s noon service, where I first built a Day of the Dead altar, worshiped with a Buddhist priest, and honored the Native Spirit. My academics and my spirit life deepened. I was learning to pray my life with others, the gift I most need to sustain my ministry.
