Frank Clooney had a busy sabbatical year. In 2013, the Parkman Professor of Divinity and director of HDS's Center for the Study of World Religions published his latest book, His Hiding Place is Darkness, which “explores the uncertainties of love and faith in a pluralistic age.” Professor Gavin Flood of the Centre for Hindu Studies at Oxford called the book "humane," "beautiful," and "a work of great scholarship."

In 2014, Clooney, a Jesuit priest, traveled to India, where he lectured, wrote, and continued his life's work in Catholic-Hindu comparative theology. Then he was off to Sri Lanka, Nepal, Australia, and Germany. Now he's back at HDS with much to say about his trips, about the perils of exoticizing the religious other, and about where he hopes to take the CSWR in the years ahead.
