All members of the HDS community, including students, are eligible to download Office ProPlus up to five times for personal use while at the University. Office ProPlus includes the latest full versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Publisher, and Access. Office ProPlus should not be used on Harvard-owned computers. To add or upgrade Microsoft Office applications on your Harvard-owned computer or device, please contact us.
All members of the HDS community with a valid harvard.edu email address are eligible for a free subscription to LastPass Premium, an online password manager that can store your passwords in a secure vault, generate new passwords for you, and autofill most login screens. To get started, visit LastPass for Harvard and click the "Get LastPass Now!" button.
Harvard affiilates can also purchase software at discounted academic pricing from OnTheHub or GovConnection. Please note that you must be a non-temporary employee of the University or a student matriculated in a degree program to access OnTheHub.
Computers and Printers
HDS IT and Media Services provides computers and printers for office use by faculty and staff.

For personal devices, HDS students can obtain tech support at the Harvard University Information Technology Walk-in Support Center (WISC). Located in the basement (B14) of the Harvard Science Center, the WISC is generally open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday-Sunday noon-4pm. The WISC hours of operation can vary depending on the time of year, so check the Walk-in Support Center schedule before visiting.
HDS students are encouraged to schedule appointments Monday-Friday from 9:30am to 3pm to obtain computer support using the online scheduling form. Please note that appointments cannot be scheduled before 9:30am or after 3pm Monday-Friday or during weekends; only walk-up support is offered during those time slots. Services available to students at the WISC include:
- Hardware and software diagnostics: isolation and repair of computer and/or software issues
- Malware/virus Removal: removal of harmful or obnoxious programs
- Data transfer and recovery: recover data from a damaged hard drive or transfer data to a new computer or an external storage device
- Networking diagnostics: isolation and repair of network access issues
- Minor part replacement: replace broken parts or upgrade replaceable parts in your computer
