Profile

Mariam Ayad is Associate Professor of Egyptology at The American University in Cairo. Her current research project, "A Gendered Analysis of an Egyptian Mortuary Ritual," explores the impact of class and gender on ancient Egyptian conceptions of death, revival, and the afterlife.
