Profile

Kerry Maloney has served Harvard Divinity School since 2004, first as the associate director of ministry studies and then as chaplain and director of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life.

In the decade before her arrival at Harvard, she worked as chaplain to the College at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where she was responsible for the development and expansion of the campus’s multireligious life and for the extension of the college’s historic commitments to peace, justice, and public service.

Prior to her work at Bates, she served for 12 years as chaplain at Boston College. At Boston College, she organized initiatives addressing the intersection of intellectual and spiritual formation, oversaw many retreat programs, and developed university-wide projects on urban social change, service learning, and contemplative practices, as well as women, gender, and religion.

Kerry also served as a social worker in the Greater Boston area for many years. She is an ordained clergyperson in the United Church of Christ and a licensed social worker.
