How I've Changed

Before coming here, I already knew I wanted to become a scholar. However, I was not sure about what I should study, or rather, I was not entirely confident in my chosen topic: religion and video games. However, my experience at HDS reinforced my confidence in this chosen path, as people here are nothing but supportive towards this slightly new and niche topic. I leave HDS with renewed courage and a plan for how to construct my thoughts into reality.

Memorable Moment

Interestingly enough it's when I saw those turkeys in front of the Swartz Hall...joke aside, there are so many memorable moments that I refuse to pick, and instead, give this honor to the turkeys who I consider to be the unofficial Harvard mascots.

Favorite Class or Professor

Definitely the Spanish class. It is such a small class that it provides both a space for learning and a space for good communication where we can share our struggles with each other and have each other's backs. The four of us had spent a whole year together. This experience will always encourage me when I try to learn new languages in the future.

Message of Thanks

I remember wanting to write a paper about this super silly kid's cartoon. (It's "My Little Pony." I like it and I’m not ashamed.) To my surprise, Professor Eck came to the class next week and told me she had watched the ENTIRE three seasons on Netflix. I was so touched; I never expected a professor to take my silly idea so seriously. If I am to become a teacher, I shall strive to maintain the same open-mindedness and patience as her all the way into my old age.
