3 Latter-Day Saints Graduate from the Air Force Chaplain Corps College in Alabama

A trio of Latter-day Saints, including 1st Lt. Jenna Carson, MDiv '18, graduated February 3 from the Air Force Chaplain Corps College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Completing the required four-week Chaplain Corps College course means they are now eligible to be deployed anywhere in the world.

When a crime is committed or moral injury occurs, we often respond in one of two ways: we condemn the offense and seek redress, or we declare our willingness to forgive and move on. But a reflexive willingness to pardon—though praised by the Christian tradition—can actually be a problem, argues Matthew Potts, MDiv '08, PhD '13, a professor and pastor at Harvard Divinity School, and author of the new book Forgiveness: An Alternative Account.

Keynote Speaker for MLK Week Announced

This year’s Martin Luther King Week planning committee is pleased to announce its keynote speaker for 2023: Melissa Wood Bartholomew. Dr. Bartholomew is the Associate Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Harvard Divinity School where she also teaches. A Christ-centered minister and a racial justice and healing practitioner, she is a dynamic and inspiring speaker and was the planning committee’s top choice for keynote this year.
